Job Summary:
Coordinates the nutrition services provided to individual patients (both inpatient and outpatient) and their families/caregivers as needed. Coordinates the employee wellness program.

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Provides nutrition assessment, identifies personalized nutrition interventions for inpatient and outpatient populations, and implements them as needed.
  2. Practices evidence-based, best practice, patient-centered nutrition care that is safe, effective, efficient, timely, and reflects the quality Plan for Mason Health.
  3. Communicates with the Culinary and Nutrition Services department to develop and implement nutritionally appropriate menus to accommodate the various needs of the inpatient population.
  4. Functions as an essential part of the Mason General Hospital patient care team, providing nutritional expertise and collaborating with other disciplines to support optimal patient outcomes.
  5. Manages the Mason Health employee wellness program, including employee nutrition education, wellness events, and other engagement opportunities.
  6. Creates community-relevant nutrition presentations and educates those within the hospital district as needed.
  7. Utilizes evidence-based research to provide input on quality improvement plans and policy and procedure development related to nutrition therapy.
  8. May function as a clinical preceptor for Dietetic Interns.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Dietetics/Nutrition
  2. Active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  3. Clinical dietetics experience preferred.
Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
  1. Registered Dietitian required or eligible for registry.
  2. Dietitian Certification, Washington State Department of Health.
  3. Current Washington Food Handlers Permit.
  4. Certified Diabetes Educator, American Association of Diabetes Educators, preferred
