Adventist HealthCare is hiring a Child Development Specialist for The Lourie Center in Rockville, MD. Qualified candidates will be eligible for up to a $2,000 sign-on bonus. (*Current AHC employees not eligible - see below under additional details.)
The Lourie Center for Children's Social and Emotional Wellness seeks to hire a Child Development Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.
The Lourie Center for Children's Social & Emotional Wellness is a private, non-profit agency with a mission to improve the social and emotional health of young children and their families through prevention, early intervention, education, research and training. This position is in partnership with the Montgomery County Infant and Toddler Program
As a Child Development Specialist you will:
• Assist in scheduling eligibility and family assessments
• Provides family counseling and training to address the social emotional need of children utilizing a family coaching model
• Educates families about MCITP services and obtain background information as needed for assessment report
• Participates in eligibility and family assessments and assist in the development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
• Administers social emotional assessment tools, interpret results and write reports. Conduct clinical observations in homes, childcare centers and the community
• Provides service coordination to families and collaborate with other professionals on multidisciplinary teams
• Collaborates with community partners such as Child Welfare Services and Early Head Start regarding support for children and families
Qualifications Include:
• Master's degree in social work or related field.
• Minimum of two years' experience with children, preferably birth to four years old.
• Minimum licensure of LGSW or LGPC; LCSW or LCPC preferred.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
*Current AHC employees are not eligible for a sign-on bonus who are transferring from one entity to another and/or transferring within their entity. Employees that have terminated their employment with AHC are not eligible for a sign-on bonus prior to six months of returning if hired for a position offering a sign-on bonus.

Pay Range:
$55,982.75 - $81,182.40
If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:

Adventist HealthCare will withdraw offers of employment to applicants who test positive for Cotinine (nicotine) and marijuana. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing. ("Nicotine products" include, but are not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products, hookah, and nicotine replacement products (e.g., nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, etc.).
