IWe are looking for an experienced Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI) Technologist. In this position there is a wide variety of exams, phenomenal team and clean environment to work in

Schedule : This position (Baylor) 0.9 FTE (48 hours worked, paid for 72 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the day/evening shift every Saturday and Sunday from 7AM to 7PM.

Responsibilities Job Description

The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.

Maintains patient care

  • Performs examinations

  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately.

  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional

  • Ensures patient safety and emergency preparedness

  • Verify patient identification and documentation

  • Communicate and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the procedure

  • Achieves quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol

Ensures patient data integrity

  • Accurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner

  • Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving

Participates as an active team member

  • Orients and mentors’ new employees and students

  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives

  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position

  • Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies

  • Provides coordinated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care

  • Contributes to a positive work environment

Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines

  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly

  • Maintains a high level of proficiency

  • Accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility

  • Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations

Qualifications

Required:

  • ARRT

  • BLS - must be current and from American Red Cross or American Heart Association

  • Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements

Preferred:

  • 1 year of MRI experience preferred

  • IV venipuncture experience

  • Siemens scanner experience

  • MRI certification or successful completion within 18 months of hire
