Screen & Packaging Specialist
Our specialized packaging department is the final step in the process before shipment to our customers. Individuals working in this area are responsible for screening and packaging of product according to visual aids and or routing work instructions, customer specific requirements.
Accuracy of work is critical in this area.
Errors in counts, part numbers and missed packaging instructions can lead to customer dissatisfaction.

Requirements:
  • Employees should have a basic understanding of aspects and impacts to the environment.
  • Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required
  • Conduct safety observations and HSE activities as required by our plant HSE program
  • Keep a clean work environment in accordance with company policy and procedures
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions on improvement opportunities
  • Handle raw material and hazardous waste safely and in an environmentally responsible manner
  • Assist in identification of potential aspects and impacts to the environment; participate in activities (such as recycling) to minimize adverse environmental impacts
  • Work from written procedures and work routers
  • Follow instructions and procedures carefully as errors can result in customer dissatisfaction
  • Record data on work orders and inspection reports, record and report problems as they arise
  • Successfully complete simple and medium skill jobs with minimal supervision
  • Read work order routings to obtain methods for packaging product. When a work order routing is not available, retrieve data QAD
  • Issue materials to work orders and receive in product against work order through QAD.
  • Verify transactions to insure that inventory is accurate.
  • Complete required verification steps for packing slips and move to next step.
  • Visually screen parts as needed, per instructions from the quality department.
  • Weigh count and package parts according to various instructions in work order routings or visual aids.
  • Clean, package product according to department standards.
  • Maintain inventory of all supplies used in the department. Submit various requisitions to purchasing.
  • Complete cycle counts as requested from planning
  • Complete DMR when non-conforming product is found
  • Participate in morning huddle to review orders due to ship within the next two weeks
  • Review what is in department prior to meeting, Prioritize work to insure customer due dates are met

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Must perform intermediate math operations, including use of decimals, fractions and S.I. units
  • At least 12 months experience in manufacturing environment with general knowledge of machining practices
  • Knowledge of proper safety procedures
  • Effective verbal/written communications skills and organizational skills
  • Constant walking; occasional sitting
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, standing, lifting, twisting, gripping, arm/leg/wrist/finger movement
  • Frequent lifting of materials from floor to waist weighing 20 to 50 pounds
  • Fine motor skills required for handling parts and various cleaning tools
