Provides technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures utilizing sterile and aseptic techniques. Acquires all imaging and post processing. Provides emergency services on call.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 6 months of hire

2. Current West Virginia Medical imaging and Radiation Therapy Technologist License.

3. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certification (ACLS) within one year of hire

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Monitors and interprets Hemodynamic monitoring.

2. Observes sterile technique while assembling supplies necessary for physicians and other lab personnel involved scrubbing and entering the lab without infarction 100% of the time.

3. Maintains the confidentiality of the patient and unit information, without infraction, as monitored by supervision.

4. Prepares entry site applicable to the procedure using sterile technique.

5. Continuously monitor patient's ECG and blood pressure while documenting and advising the physician of any and all activity in an accurate and timely manner and providing documentation that will become part of the patient's permanent record.

6. Participates in the on-call rotation of the laboratory and remains available for emergent procedures 24 hours a day.

7. Acts as the laboratory's code team by initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillators under the direct supervision of the physician in charge.

8. Correctly documents all procedures performed and utilized the inventory control system that is established. Correctly bills for all procedures.

9. Participated in educational and in-service opportunities.

10. Instructs radiography students in the clinical setting with regard to patient positioning, techniques selection, manipulation of equipment and the use of accessory devices to obtain radiographic images.

11. Maintains two areas of specialization as defined by the department.

12. Participated in inventory management of the department.

13. Checks and prepares patient prior to procedure.

14. Participates in performance improvement activities.

1. Ability to stand for long periods of time while wearing lead aprons.

2. Ability to lift, push or pull a minimum of 40 pounds.

4. Ability to differentiate various shades of gray as depicted on a black and white television monitor of photograph.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to communicate with physicians and peers on a professional level.

2. Knowledgeable in sterile techniques.

3. Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving and transmitting images to the data storage system.

4. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, operating manuals, production information or regulations.

5.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

6.

Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization of variables.
