Performance Tester

Job Description:
• Drive high severity production incident calls to quick resolution
• Design and implement strategies to effectively monitor for application health, stability and performance
• Pro-active monitoring to prevent major incidents
• Guide technical support staff and clients to investigate, analyze, and resolve highly complex technical problems
• Responsible for troubleshooting and resolution of performance problems.

Work with application development, network, database, and infrastructure specialists to identify and implement performance improvements. Take the lead on assisting development teams in planning on-going performance support and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with developers to promote performance engineering best practices to catch performance earlier in the SDLC life cycle
• Responsible for analysis of performance results and measurements and the reporting of those results back to project teams, development teams, management, and business stakeholders
• Able to serve as subject matter expert for performance testing and performance test tools.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
• 5+ years of experience across multiple technology disciplines
• 3+ years of experience in support and performance engineering role for large applications

Extensive experience in/with:
• Experience with Applications developed using Java, Angular, Spring boot, .Net Core, ASP.NET, Require.js, Angular, JSON, Node.js, Rest API, HTML5, etc.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools such as Datadog, App Dynamics, Dynatrace etc and log monitoring tools such as Splunk, Kibana etc
• Experience working with complex Web development projects
• Experience working with Kubernetes
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Excellent technical knowledge with experience in supporting large-scale applications
• Agile methodology/deliveries
• Experience with diagnostics tools to identify root cause like jProfiler.
• Automated testing tools such as LoadRunner, jMeter
• Ability to identify issues quickly and resolve
• Expertise in Application delivery process
• Experience/Expert knowledge in converting monolithic applications to APIs
• Good understanding of cloud technologies and APIGEE
• Experience with DevOps, Agile, automation & Cloud implementation strategies.
• Experience with diagnostics tools to identify root cause in application code.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools such as Firebug, Fiddler, Httpwatch
• Exposure and working knowledge on No SQL database, relational databases systems MS SQL Server or similar RDBMS
• Ability to work both independently and collaboration with team
• Strong technical, logical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Skills : MUST HAVE 1-2 years in Testing/Automation/Performance This is Jr. Performance Tester, so ANY experience similar to Jmeter, DataDog, Splunk, CICD, Kubernetes, AWS is good. 20% of the role is DevOps focused with Kubernetes and building out CICD, THIS IS A NICE TO HAVE. Must be able to ramp up quickly. ON-SITE 5 days a week to start, then hybrid once ramped up - CANDIDATES MUST BE OK WITH THIS
Basic Qualification : Project Scope: • This person will be assisting with Performance testing for all of the Production environments in SCP, specifically in-home Wifi. • They'll want this person to be ideally doing 80% performance testing, but 20% DevOps work - if someone would like to build on that skillset, this is ideal Team Culture/Size/Soft Skills needed: • Team of 6 • Strong collaboration within the team - they almost always work together, but also have a 'self serve' first mentality. Attempt to figure it out on your own, then bring it to the team. • They all love solving problems together, and being invested in each other both personally & professionally Must have skills/experience/certs and/or technologies: • JMeter is preferred tool, but open to others • Data Dog preferred, but open to anything similar - App Dynamics, Splunk, Kibana • Kubernetes preferred for DevOps, as is AWS Day to Day responsibilities: • 80% Performance Testing / 20% DevOps
