Albin Engineering Services, Inc. (www.aesi.com) is looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer for one of our premier clients. This will be a direct hire position that will be reporting onsite in the Fremont, C rea. As their employee, you qualify for our their benefit package.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement, and test high-quality embedded software.
  • Perform board bring-up with initial test firmware to test all circuits and connected peripherals.
  • Design and develop around MCUs and ARM microcontrollers/processors.
  • Conduct fabrication and testing of prototype systems, and documents design modifications as required.
  • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary engineering teams to design and develop firmware and/or digital circuits for new products and existing products.
  • Use engineering methodology and procedures to apply principles to design and development project per company SOP.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done thinking "Safety First".

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in a related field
  • Strong experience of C/C++ in embedded applications or systems
  • Experience with Microchip MCU (16-bit) and ARM (32-bit) microcontrollers down to register level manipulation.
  • Working knowledge of common embedded communication protocols: UART, SPI, and I2C.
  • Held a position as lead developer on a firmware project that has been tested and approved for production release.
  • Proficient with digital and analog circuit debugging using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
  • 5+ years of development experience with Embedded Linux: kernel space and user space
  • Experience using version control tools (e.g., Git) and bug tracking systems.

  • Outstanding problem-solving resolution and attention to detail, willing to lead by example.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding work ethic, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Takes initiative and works well independently.
  • Must have a great "can do" attitude.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with WiFi and Bluetooth for IoT applications.
  • Experience with Microchip MPLAB X IDE compilers and debugger tools.
  • Experience with Javascript/Typescript in a full-stack web development framework (i.e., MEAN stack).
  • Experience with OrCAD or similar schematic capture tools.
  • Experience with both analog and digital sensors.
  • Experience with multi-threaded software design and RTOS principles.
  • Experience with closed-loop control systems (e.g., PID).
