Summary/Objective
Develops, plans, and implements appropriate therapeutic programs for identified students in the school district.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for all students eligible for physical therapy services.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate a physical therapy program, including philosophy, vision, departmental procedures and goals.
- Provide direct service to students as indicated on specific IEPs.
- Provide homebound service, as needed.
- Evaluate students, interpret assessment findings, and appropriately convey information to parents and school teams.
- Consult with school staff, parents, and agencies regarding student needs, progress, and instructional modifications.
- Validate outside diagnostic evaluations and program recommendations.
- Recommend and assist with procurement of therapeutic equipment and materials based on student needs, as needed.
- Maintain student services, administrative, and other department records in accordance with the Arizona Physical Therapy Practice Act as well as school district, state, and federal policies.
- Communicate and consult with school staff, parents, administrators, physicians, community, and other professionals effectively verbally and in written form.
- Participate in professional growth activities.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members, and vendors.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.

- Regularly required to sit and focus on a computer screen for extended periods of time.

- Manual dexterity regularly required in the preparation of reports and other documents.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
This is a full time, exempt position. Employee will typically work Monday through Thursday.
Required Education and Experience
Master's ore more advanced degree from an accredited institution in the field of occupational therapy
Preferred Education and Experience
- Two years pediatric clinical experience or elementary school experience
- Sensory Integration Certification
- Good knowledge of medical/surgical/pediatric information and indications for occupational therapy treatment
Required Certifications/Licenses
Licensure through the Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
