Job DescriptionJob Description

The Systems Engineer is responsible for maintaining a secure and reliable network infrastructure to support our multiple fixed office locations and quarterly auctions across the United States. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Windows and Linux servers, firewalls, L2 and L3 switches, Microsoft Office 365 and Azure, along with troubleshooting hardware and software issues on multiple platforms.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN and WAN networks across office locations and auction sites, ensuring optimal performance and security.

  • Configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers in a virtualized environment.

  • Manage AD, DFS, DHCP, DNS and file/print services.

  • Support VoIP phone systems.

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues that may arise, ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution.

  • Collaborate with team members to integrate new software and hardware into the network.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of network design, configurations, and procedures for efficient troubleshooting and future expansion.

  • Coordinate and manage on-site network setup and support during annual auctions.

  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours to support on location auctions.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in network technology and industry best practices, recommending improvements and upgrades as necessary.

  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.

  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices and tools.

  • Be flexible to perform the needed tasks to get the job done.

  • Able to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision, but also a team player.

  • Ability to work with all levels of the organization including Executive Management.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor's degree ) 5+ years of experience in an engineering or technical support role.

  • Certification in network security and monitoring (e.g., CCNA Security, CompTIA Network+, AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, etc).

  • Highly skilled in delivering outstanding customer service.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff members.

  • Excellent project management skills are a must.

  • A strong team player with a proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous learning.

Culture

Team members are in the office five days per week, 8am to 5pm at the Scottsdale, AZ headquarters. During live events the company largely travels together to produce and ensure each event is a success. This requires weekend work and long hours.
