Job Summary:Works as part of Information Technology team to support software implementations, new functionality rollouts, provides end user training, and provides ongoing systems support for all internal applications by performing the following duties.
Job Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Provides application support for all internal applications.
  1. Proactively assesses workflow and makes recommendations based on system capability.*
  1. Thoroughly understands EMR functionality and assists training plan development for all positions.*
  1. Ensures verbal and written communications are clear, concise, and accurate.*
  1. Assists with defining and modifying clinical templates based on clinical workflow and EMR capabilities.*
  1. Acts as subject expert for EMR application to train and support super users.*
  1. Solves system problems and issues in a timely and accurate manner with little or no supervision.*
  1. Works with EMR vendor to resolve complex issues in a timely manner.*
  1. Identifies future EMR functionality and provides training prior to release of new functionality.*
  1. Uses software maintenance and report writing tools as required.*
  1. Uses analytical and problem solving skills.*
  1. Takes initiative to identify and make recommendations for improvement in processes, workflow, and applications.*
  1. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Ability to solve basic computer, printer, and peripheral device issues both hardware and operating system related.

Education/Experience:

Required:

High School Diploma. Minimum 2 years' experience working in a healthcare setting using EMR; Associate's Degree in Science, Computers or related field ( or Technical Trade School equivalent) considered in lieu of experience.

Preferred:

Associate's degree (A. A. / A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One or more years project management experience in managing small to medium sized projects.
