How You Can Join Us
As a Communications Engineer with PEAKE supporting a US Government customer, you will be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of satellite communication systems and equipment. Your role is crucial in ensuring reliable and secure GEO satellite communication channels for government operations and mission success. You will work with advanced satellite technology to support critical communications in diverse and challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain satellite communication systems, including antennas, modems, and associated equipment. Perform routine and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Operational Support: Operate satellite communication systems and equipment during exercises, training, and real-world operations. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to maintain uninterrupted communication channels.
- System Monitoring: Monitor satellite communication networks and systems for performance and security. Implement preventive measures to mitigate potential disruptions or failures.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and support for the setup and integration of satellite communication systems. Collaborate with other personnel and departments to ensure seamless communication operations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and operational performance. Prepare reports and documentation as required for mission planning and post-operation analysis.
- Training and Support: Train and mentor junior technicians and other personnel on satellite communication systems and procedures. Provide guidance and support to ensure effective use and maintenance of communication equipment.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience and training in satellite communications or related technical fields within the US military environment is required. Experience supporting government operations or projects is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and maintaining satellite communication systems, including knowledge of signal processing, modulation techniques, and network protocols. Familiarity with Cisco IOS and LAN/WAN protocols. Hands-on experience with iDirect modems.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in performing technical tasks and maintaining equipment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and field settings.
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years' relevant experience. Completion of technical training in satellite communications or a related field, either through military training or civilian education.
- Preferred: Associate's degree in a relevant field or additional certification in satellite communication technologies.
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
- Required Security Environment Certification: CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent
- Preferred Certification: CCNA (or CCNA track in progress)
- 100% on customer site (Fort Stewart, Savannah, Georgia)
- TS/SCI required
- Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
