We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator with a comprehensive understanding of systems architecture, networking protocols, deployment, migration, and operational procedures. This role will support management in enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will analyze user requirements and provide oversight for technical operations platforms, drawing on extensive knowledge of Information and Technology (I&T) and/or Department of Defense (DoD) environments. As a vital member of a well-rounded, experienced medium-sized team, you will thrive in a flexible hybrid work environment (remote and/or contractor site location).

All Corporate Electronic Document Management System (CEDMS) applications require ongoing maintenance, security upgrades as mandated by the DoD, and functional enhancements to meet customer needs. Our team is responsible for maintaining the DFAS CEDMS application instances, supporting operations, and delivering services across all application system environments (Development, Staging, Production, and Continuity of Operations). This includes application upgrades, research and development, testing, training, system maintenance, application security, system interface setup and maintenance, and consultation support across all modules.

Your Future Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Systems Administrator across various project assignments. Provide support in designing and developing solutions for complex application challenges, system administration issues, and network/infrastructure concerns.
  • Offer technical and management leadership for significant tasks or technology assignments. Set goals and plans to achieve project objectives.
  • Act as the lead integration engineer for developing new application environments within the DISA hosting facility.
  • Facilitate the conversion of production systems from physical server environments to AZURE cloud resources.
  • Assess performance outcomes and recommend significant changes to enhance both short and long-term project growth and success. Advise on the feasibility of potential future projects and system enhancements.
  • Utilize architectural products to shape and inform solution requirements, aligning architectures with the customer's strategic goals and objectives (roadmaps, mission capabilities).
  • Execute systems management and integration functions.
  • Complete Information Assurance (IA) compliance tasks for DITSCAP and Risk Management Framework (RMF), maintaining system integrity and managing SAN environments in both unclassified and classified settings.
  • Demonstrate broad experience in the systems engineering lifecycle and relevant methodologies, applying this knowledge to specific cybersecurity initiatives related to architectural design and development.
Required Qualifications for Success in This Role
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+CE within 60 days of onboarding.
  • Plan and lead major technology assignments, clearly defining and communicating project objectives, goals, and scope to the project team and stakeholders.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining user documentation and deliverables, with demonstrated operational experience in DoD systems, applications, and platforms in a security-cleared environment.
  • Familiarity with DOD/DISA/RMF operations and the cybersecurity domain within a DoD context.
  • Experience with advanced systems engineering/integration concepts and tools.
  • DoD 8570 Compliant System Administrator (IAT 2).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Fundamentals.
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of DFAS mission partners, with a broad knowledge of DFAS I&T and/or other DoD architectures and missions, both current and future.
  • A strong background in agile development methodologies (such as Scrum or Kanban), along with experience in defining project roadmaps, milestones, and metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with government counterparts and key stakeholders, including interactions with Computer Systems Engineers/Architects, Application Software Developers, and other functional/technical team members.
