Physical Therapist

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides treatment to patients by evaluating function and selecting appropriate treatments to improve or restore function. Participates in interdisciplinary in servicing and community education as well as clinical education of affiliating students.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Graduate of an accredited program of Physical Therapy with a minimum of a B.S.
- Must hold current state license in Physical Therapy.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Windows based programs.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel between work sites.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluates patients based on departmental standards.
- Conducts evaluations and modifies based on patient's symptoms and activity level.
- Treats patients with appropriate therapeutic exercises and physical agents.
- Educates patients/families in home exercise programs and functional activities.
- Documents in accordance with insurance guidelines and departmental policies.
- Fosters interdepartmental communication and communication with referring physician.
- Adheres to professional code of ethics and safety standards at all times.
- Supervises affiliated student per year and attends continuing education courses.
- Participates in departmental in-service or community in-service programs.
