Software Development Engineer in Test III (TraceLink, Inc. – Wilmington, MA):

Build and execute testing tools to enable automated tests of the TraceLink platform and application.  Duties include:

  1. Execute tests on the TraceLink platform and application;
  2. Extend and maintain automation frameworks;
  3. Prepare and present clear reports on defect findings that allow developers to quickly and accurately reproduce problems and allow the Quality Engineering team to verify that fixes are complete;
  4. Verify defect fixes;
  5. Build tooling for automated testing of the TraceLink platform and application utilizing Java, Eclipse, Ant or Maven, Unix, and an automated unit test framework, such as TestNG;
  6. Programmatically interface testing tools with the TraceLink platform and application;
  7. Create testing tools that can be configured and used by non-developers and can simulate real-world transaction volumes involving potentially millions of transactions per day;
  8. Participate in deployment and post deployment activities of the Tracelink platform and application;
  9. Provide high-level analysis to apply appropriate technologies and architecture to solve conceptual problems;
  10. Research and remain informed of new technology and tools, and how such technologies could be applied at TraceLink;
  11. Work closely with engineers building the core TraceLink product to ensure that testability concerns are factored into the design of the product.

Position Requirements:

Master’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or closely related discipline, plus 4 years of progressive experience in a software testing engineering role.

In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or closely related discipline plus 6 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a software testing engineering role.

Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:

  • 4 years of experience in a test automation engineering role involving programmatic interaction with a system under test;
  • 4 years of experience utilizing Java, Eclipse, Ant or Maven, Unix, and an automated unit test framework, such as TestNG;
  • 4 years of experience developing against web-services and Web-based APIs;
  • 4 years of experience developing and executing formal test plans, data sets, and test configurations for assigned feature areas; and
  • 4 years of experience testing web-based enterprise-class business applications.
