Position Title: Program Director, Gastroenterology Fellowship Program
Location: Lankenau Medical Center (LMC)

Position Overview:
The Program Director for the Gastroenterology Fellowship Program at LMC will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the fellowship, including the continuity clinic. The Program Director will drive the program s educational, administrative, clinical, and research initiatives while ensuring compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements.
In this role, you will cultivate a rigorous academic environment, provide mentorship to fellows, develop innovative curricula, and foster a strong clinical training experience. You will also be an active participant in faculty development activities in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum & Program Management: Develop and implement the fellowship curriculum, aligned with ACGME competencies, ensuring faculty and fellows adhere to training requirements.
  • Faculty Development: Lead the recruitment and professional development of core faculty, ensuring the team s qualifications supporting the program s educational goals.
  • Fellow Oversight & Evaluation: Oversee the training, professional development, and supervision of our six (6) fellows. Lead recruitment efforts and ensure a structured, supportive, and professional learning environment.
  • Accreditation & Compliance: Maintain program accreditation by ensuring adherence to ACGME standards, preparing for accreditation reviews, and correcting deficiencies as needed.
  • CME: Maintains current knowledge in the field of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and fellow education through CME programs, Program Director meetings.
  • Continuity Clinic Management: Oversee the Gastroenterology Continuity Clinic to ensure fellows gain comprehensive ambulatory experience and exposure to a wide range of GI/Hepatology cases.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, with active participation in Maintenance of Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited subspecialty fellowship program.
  • Medical License to practice in Pennsylvania, in good standing with no pending adverse actions.
  • Primary practice site must be at Lankenau Medical Center
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills: Strong communicator, capable of managing both administrative and clinical responsibilities while maintaining a positive work culture in the GI Fellowship Program.
  • Proven ability to foster an educational environment focused on fellow growth and academic achievement.
Reporting Structure:
The Program Director will report to:
  • Designated Institutional Official (DIO) and Associate DIO for accreditation and fellow welfare matters.
  • The Vice President of Medical Education for broader graduate education concerns.
  • Division Head, Department Chair, Vice-President for Medical Affairs, and ultimately the Chief Medical Officer for clinical and patient care issues
Time Commitment:
This role requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, (80 hours per month) non-clinical time for program leadership and administrative duties and 20 hours per week of clinical time. Call is shared with the MLHC Gastroenterology practice.
