Position Goal: The position of the Head Custodian position is to provide students and employees with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to work, learn, play, and develop.

One Full Time 12-month position available at Spring-Ford's Senior High School.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to train other employees on cleaning protocols and procedures as documented in the Custodial Manual.
- Must schedule, coordinate, and plan activities and duties for the custodial team.
- Schedule, plan, coordination with other departments, and purchase supplies for summer cleaning of assigned school building.Prepare the school building for the school day for safe use.
- Complete building checks to assure the required cleaning has occurred and there are no safety concerns.
- Report safety or maintenance issues to the appropriate staff.
- Clean any areas of the school building or property as necessary.
- Set up school areas for day time activities, school events, or rentals.
- Must be able to respond to emergency situations in a timely fashion and appropriately.
- Must contact supervisor in emergency situations and follow the emergency response chart.
- Must be able to perform minor maintenance duties and utilize basic hand tools.
- Must attend all mandatory meetings (e.g. safety, training and communications).
- Oversee the lunch room and cleanliness of the cafeteria during the lunch periods.
- Receives packages and delivers them to appropriate personnel.
- Pulls and delivers teacher supply requests in a timely manner.
- Keep all storage, custodial office, and mechanical rooms clean and organized.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Must be able to report to work in inclement weather which includes flooding and snow.
- Must be able to perform snow removal responsibilities which includes -shoveling, snow blowing, and salting (lift bag of salt) when assigned.
- Able to drive an automobile, van, or light truck.
- Report cleaning inspection deficiencies to supervisor.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools relevant to the Head Custodian position.
- Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations for the protection of staff, students, community members, and property.
- Performs any other job-related duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations or their designee.
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 75 lbs.
- Use a back-pack vacuum for an extended period of time (8lbs.)
- Must be able to set up and break down an event by yourself or with a team
- Must be able to set up and climb a ladder and/or operate a lift
- Must be able to stand or walk for two hour intervals or longer
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to regularly talk and hear.
- Must be able to regularly balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, or smell.
- Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
- Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing.
- Ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.
- Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

Hourly Rate: $22.00/hour
Hourly Stipend: $4.00/hour
Hours: Monday-Friday 6 AM - 2:30 PM
Available: February 2025. This is the 2024-2025 school year calendar.
Applicants must submit copies of current Act 34, 151, and 114 clearances.
