Trauma Program Coordinator RN

We are seeking a highly qualified Trauma Program Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time position in the Trauma Support Department. In this role, you will work with the Trauma Medical Director to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the clinical aspects of our Trauma program to ensure the highest quality care for our patients.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate Trauma Program Performance Improvement activities.
    • Complete trauma performance improvement reports and track and trend PI indicators.
    • Actively participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of corrective actions for identified opportunities for improvement.
    • Oversee clinical activities and serve as a consultant to colleagues and other healthcare providers.
    • Monitor intra-hospital and inter-hospital patient transfers and outcomes.
    • Collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director and medical staff in identifying educational needs of trauma service personnel.
    • Participate in clinical rounding and other communication with physicians and residents on the inpatient units to obtain/clarify specific principal diagnoses or comorbidities and complications that pertain to the clinical information shared on specific patients during rounding.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related discipline.
    • Valid RN license.
    • At least 1 year of directly related experience.
    • Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist or Cert Doc Imp Prac/Spec (CDIP or CDIS) or Cert Coding Spec preferred.
