As a Hospice Aide, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.

Job Overview:

Gives personal care, exercise, and performs housekeeping responsibilities for the patient in their home environment or inpatient Hospice units. Serves as model and demonstrator to patients and their families. Follows the clinical direction of the RN in the management of the patient's plan of care. Assists patients with assigned personal hygiene, completes assigned procedures and treatments, provides assistance with designated activities including passive and active range of motion, ambulation and transfers, assists with assigned housekeeping functions, which may include changing and/or making beds, meal setup and feeding, washing dishes, laundry, dusting, floor care and refuse disposal, recognizes and communicates to the Hospice RN changes in the patient's condition, performs all other duties as may be required.

Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education:
  • Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider, within six months of hire.
  • Completion of a high school education or equivalent (GED) preferred
  • Successfully complete PCT classes as required by care center/unit.
