Manager, SEC Reporting and Technial Accouting

Our client, a leading company in the technology industry, is seeking a Manager of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to join their team. This role is based in Santa Clara and requires in-office presence three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the company's vision to power global innovation and push the boundaries of technology. Responsibilities
- Manage periodic filings with the SEC, including preparation of financial statements and related notes, MD&A, and other disclosures.
- Prepare financial statements and presentations for quarterly earnings releases and file related Form 8-K.
- Review and tie-out Proxy financial disclosures.
- Manage preparation of financial statements for the 401(k) Plan and filing of Form 5500.
- Oversee accounting for the company's capital structure (debt and equity).
- Oversee accounting for equity compensation plans.
- Monitor and research new accounting standards, summarize and communicate impacts to executives and the Audit Committee, and lead process changes where necessary to respond to new requirements.
- Analyze and understand complex transactions, apply complex accounting standards to those transactions, develop solutions to problems, and effectively communicate the results to stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with internal clients, including General Accounting, IT, Treasury, Strategic Investments, Legal, Internal Audit, and Real Estate Operations.
- Liaise with external auditors and company stakeholders to manage effective and efficient audit execution.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA certification.
- 4 years of experience with complex accounting including SEC reporting and GAAP.
- Proven success in managing a team of finance professionals through ambiguity while still driving results.
- Prior experience working in Public Accounting (Big 4) is highly preferred.
- Experience with Workiva is a strong plus.
- Confident communicator with the maturity and presence necessary to influence senior executives and business leaders.
- Thrive on driving innovation and change that will propel the business forward.
- Consistently practice strategic thinking and nimble problem-solving tactics to stay ahead of business priorities.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure: $130K - $140K per year.
