Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides necessary counseling as required for the student and/or as outlined in the student’s IHP Evaluates the students’ psychosocial needs, and evaluates the progress Collaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate goals for each student Implements and manages school guidance programs Utilizes a variety of therapy techniques and treatment plans Works with students in individual, small group and/or classroom settings Facilitates student learning involving life skills, organization techniques and time management Assists students with creating an academic plan for their education Adheres to Amergis and District policies and procedures Minimum Requirements: Licensing/Certification according to state/facility/contract requirement The Counselor may be required to have an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Psychology, Addictions, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling, Nursing, or some other Human Development major per state, contract and/or facility guidelines.
