THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will supervise, manage, and direct activities in state-owned Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores. This supervisory work involves directing all activities of a store with annual sales up to 109,250 units. As general manager, you will implement and apply policy and procedure to store operations; assign and evaluate work; and promote good customer relations. General managers are accountable for the entire store operation, which includes sales, store maintenance, merchandise and cash accounting, maintenance of records and all related functions. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 75 hours biweekly.
  • Work hours will vary between 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday - Friday.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Liquor Store Clerk 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Liquor Store Clerk 1 or an Intermittent Liquor Store Clerk (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of lead retail sales work.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
