We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Manager to oversee and optimize the maintenance operations in our food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and experience in preventive and predictive maintenance within a food production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks, setting performance expectations, and fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime, reduce failures, and extend asset life.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, ensuring quick and effective resolution to prevent production delays.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, FDA, USDA, and other relevant food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve equipment efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall plant performance.
- Spare Parts & Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels of critical spare parts to support equipment maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Vendor & Contractor Management: Coordinate with third-party service providers for equipment repairs, upgrades, and scheduled maintenance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, downtime analysis, and equipment performance metrics.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to support operational goals and minimize disruptions.
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience: 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of PLCs, refrigeration systems, conveyors, motors, pumps, and other food processing equipment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, train staff, and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), Microsoft Office, and maintenance tracking software.
- Fast-paced food manufacturing setting with exposure to temperature variations, machinery noise, and production equipment.
- Requires flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and on-call availability for emergencies.
