  • Job Summary
    • The Sr. CRNA- AIMS Coordinator and PI Support is a qualified anesthesia provider who is responsible for the administration of anesthesia and related services, utilizing the team approach with an attending physician, as delineated by clinical and nonclinical responsibilities described herein. Specific Sr.CRNA responsibilities include coordination of all anesthesia department AIMS projects and PI data collection and review.
    • The Sr. CRNA-Transplant/PI Coordinator and AIMS Support is a qualified anesthesia provider who is responsible for the administration of anesthesia and related services, utilizing the team approach with an attending physician, as delineated by clinical and nonclinical responsibilities described herein. Specific Sr.CRNA responsibilities include coordination of CRNA education and coverage for all transplant services; and assist AIMS Coordinator with projects.
    • The Sr. CRNA Coordinator for Student/Staff Orientation is a qualified anesthesia provider who is responsible for the administration of anesthesia and related services, utilizing the team approach with an attending physician, as delineated by clinical and nonclinical responsibilities described herein. Specific Sr.CRNA responsibilities include coordination of all clinical activities for the UAB and Samford Nurse Anesthesia Students during their pediatric rotation; coordination of orientation process for new CRNA staff.
    • The Sr. CRNA Educator is a qualified anesthesia provider who is responsible for the administration of anesthesia and related services, utilizing the team approach with an attending physician, as delineated by clinical and nonclinical responsibilities described herein. The Sr. CRNA Educator is responsible for the management of the departmental continuing education program and POC devices. Responsible for maintenance of all departmental policies and publication in Lucidoc.
    • The Sr. CRNA Compliance and Supplies/Equipment Coordinator is a qualified anesthesia provider who is responsible for the administration of anesthesia and related services, utilizing the team approach with an attending physician, as delineated by clinical and nonclinical responsibilities described herein. The Sr. CRNA Compliance and Supplies/Equipment Coordinator is responsible for departmental compliance standards, maintaining survey readiness and direction of anesthesia technician support staff. Facilitates education and competency standards for all staff and is responsible for planning for capital equipment and supply needs in collaboration with the anesthesia equipment/materials manager and director of anesthesia.
  • Education
    • Graduation from an approved program of nurse anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor required.
  • Experience
    • Three years experience required with pediatrics preferred.
  • Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
    • Certified/Recertified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists required.
    • BCLS Instructor Certification required.
