Citarella, The Ultimate Gourmet Market, is seeking a INVENTORY CONTROL to join our growing team We are seeking an individual whose interest and passion for inventory is as unparalleled as our commitment to superb customer service and quality food. This role is based out of our Hunts Point, Bronx Commissary location.

The Inventory Control assists in the daily activities of the inventory control staff. Ensures adequate levels of materials and/or product inventories are maintained. Being an Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for evaluating inventories needs and implementing strategies to meet those needs. Contributes to the development of process and procedures.

Speed, accuracy, and safety are paramount to successfully meet the requirements of the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Count merchandise in stock and posts totals to inventory records
  • Compare inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory
  • Verify clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies
  • Generate reports such as inventory balance or shortages
  • Prepare lists of depleted items and recommends survey of defective or unusable items
  • Ensure compliance with all inventory policies and procedures and manage inventory for the distribution center
  • Work collaboratively with the Inbound and Outbound Warehouse Supervisors on continuous improvements within the warehouse operations
  • Prepare and reconcile all daily cycle count processes and prepare reports within agreed timeframes.
  • Monitor all inventory issues and ensure effective resolution for all departments
  • Prepare reports (stock movements, delivery fulfillment, inventory variance, etc.) for the warehouse Manager
  • Perform slotting maintenance to ensure efficient order fulfillment
  • Handles all matters relating to inventory control, checking quality of designated product, taking daily inventory on product.
  • Local point of contact for Quality Department
  • Check, pull, segregate and document recalled or quarantined products
  • Maintain and update inventory using the Sage X3 system on a regular basis and ensure accuracy of same at all times Coordinate with other departments and provide inventory support at all times
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • In addition, other duties maybe required as directed by your team lead, supervisor, and/or manager
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish
  • Ability to use computer technology
  • Prior warehousing experience in a food environment preferred
  • Electric and manual pallet jack, order picker, forklift, and RF scanners
  • Basic understanding of food safety practices and DOA standards (Quality control, Rotation, Etc.)]
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation following DOA standards while working
