JOB REQUIREMENTS: Essential Responsibilities Include: CLIENT SERVICES -Perform WIC certifications, including intake and registration, anthropometric measurement, hemoglobin and lead testing, nutrition and breastfeeding assessment, counseling, benefit issuance, immunization assessment, and referral to health care providers and community agencies. -Determine WIC eligibility by identifying risk factors. -Monitor participant follow-up and modify plan of care as needed. -Complete required documentation in ROSIE as outlined in the Wisconsin WIC Operations Manual. -Determine appropriate food package and issue WIC benefits. NUTRITION EDUCATION -Develop, implement, and monitor nutrition-related educational plans for WIC participants, outreach work plans and other grant-related initiatives. Assist in mentoring paraprofessional staff by reviewing nutrition plans for high-risk participants and guiding follow-up education accordingly. -Follow the guidelines according to the Nutrition Care Process (NCP) and similar standards set forth by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. ADMINISTRATIVE -Assure implementation of and compliance with WIC federal, state, and project regulations and policies. -Attend WIC clinic team meetings to assure continuous quality improvement. -Assure outreach to underserved segments of the community ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree from an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)-approved dietetic technician program AND Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics registration as a Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR) at time of appointment and throughout employment.
