Our client, an award-winning wealth management and planning practice in Westport, is hiring a Paraplanner to continue to deliver first class service to their clients.
The ideal candidate should have some experience working within a wealth management firm, a passion for the financial planning process and interest in a position with a top firm that offers a fast-track, apprentice-based path to becoming a senior financial advisor.
The successful candidate will be a process-driven, detailed-oriented, and structured individual who strives for constant improvement and thrives in a feedback centric environment. The candidate should be an effective communicator and value the support of working closely with a senior advisor.
The primary responsibility of the paraplanner is to assist the senior advisor in client meetings, ensuring all documents are adequately prepared, meeting notes are taken, and action items and next steps are taken immediately following the meeting.
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Sit second chair to the senior advisor in client meetings to take explicit notes, build relationships with the clients, and understand the financial planning philosophy.
Identify and bring to the senior advisor's attention any new areas of business development for current clients including, but not limited to: planning and new assets, referrals and introductions, next gen, COIs, etc.
Work with the investment, planning and operations teams to learn and eventually collaborate on analysis, recommendations, and service items.
Shadow both the director of financial planning to learn the financial planning process and the senior advisor to learn advanced financial planning techniques and strategies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Licensed or willingness to get licensed - Series 7 and 66 and LAH insurance license.
Be a confident and an effective communicator.
Be coachable.
