Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma/Equivalent required - Associates or Bachelors in a Science related field preferred. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS None Specified EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS None Specified SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Strong ability to work corroboratively and effectively in a fast-paced, flexible, team-based environment. Essential Functions: Accession all Anatomic Pathology specimens in laboratory computer system. Process Cytology specimens including all pap smears and non-gyn specimens. Embed tissue for microtomy. Cut routine paraffin sections of surgical and autopsy tissue for microscopic examination in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Prepare equipment and reagents for processing, embedding, microtomy and processing of tissue. Perform routine and special staining techniques. Label, file, discard and maintain tissue, clides and blocks. Process Cytology specimens including all pap smears and non-gyn specimens. Perform various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols. Evaluates acceptability as associated with department testing.
