We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Traffic Engineer Team Lead with a well-developed knowledge of the planning and design of transportation facilities. The Traffic Engineer Team Lead will play a crucial role in establishing and expanding our transportation services, focusing on traffic studies and design projects. This position will involve working closely with private developers and municipalities to ensure that local transportation facilities effectively integrate with regional County and State highway systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive traffic studies and analyses to assess current conditions, identify issues, and propose solutions for improving traffic flow and safety.
  • Design traffic control measures, including traffic signals, signs, markings, traffic management plans, and road geometrics
  • Conduct traffic impact studies and analysis to assess the effects of proposed developments on traffic flow and safety.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects, planners, and other engineers to integrate transportation solutions into overall project designs.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications for transportation projects in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Perform traffic simulations and modeling to evaluate the performance of transportation systems under various conditions.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on traffic engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess existing conditions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients to obtain necessary approvals and permits for transportation projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulatory changes related to traffic engineering.
  • Evaluate, secure, and administer State and Federal Transportation funding opportunities related to local municipal projects
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in traffic engineering, with a focus on traffic studies and design is required
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in traffic management software and data collection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal transportation regulations and standards.
