Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

We are excited to invite applications for the role of Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. At Geisinger Community Medical Center, we provide our Hospital Medicine providers with innovative tools and comprehensive support to empower them in delivering remarkable care.
Location: Geisinger Community Medical Center - Scranton, PA
Department: Hospital Medicine
Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off (7pm - 7am)
Work Type: Full-time
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments and triage patients based on presenting conditions.
- Monitor and discuss pertinent procedures and lab results with physicians, while communicating outcomes and care plans to patients and their families.
- Facilitate appropriate follow-up care arrangements for patients as needed.
- Respond to calls from established patients and their families to assess their needs effectively.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and share care plans with families and patients.
- Assist in obtaining preauthorization for medications, diagnostic tests, and treatments.
- Engage in patient screening processes as required by qualifications.
The work is primarily performed in a clinical setting. You will be accountable for fulfilling job-specific obligations in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. The responsibilities listed above are intended to capture the essential functions of the role and do not encompass all tasks.

Education: Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies (Required)
Experience:
Certification(s) and License(s): Basic Life Support Certification; Certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
