The Dietary Aide helps prepare and serve food that is attractive and nutritious to the patient population and washes all dishes used in the department (patient and non-patient). Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
Responsibilities
The Dietary Aide responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Understands and applies food requirements for the hospital population
* Safely operates and maintains equipment with a high degree of cleanliness
* Takes and records accurate temperatures on patient foods (cold and hot)
* Prepares accurate trays, assuring that patients receive proper diet
* Prepares snacks for patients and delivers them to the nursing units
* Operates the dish machine to insure thorough cleaning of dishware and utensils
* Delivers patient meal trays following infection control guidelines.
* Patient is offered substitute meal of equal or greater nutritional value if tray is refused. This position reports to the Department Manager, Dietitian, and the Supervisor.
This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information. All staff in this position are subject to slips, falls, burns, and cuts.

Qualifications
* Experience in healthcare food service, preferred
* Food handler's card required within 60 days of hire and current certification yearly thereafter
* Must be able to communicate effectively in English
