Metro is looking for a motivated and passionate Occupational Therapist to provide coverage for our outpatient facilities across South Nassau on a per diem basis. Come be a part of a growing organization in a progressive, supportive, and innovative team
Work Locations: Bellmore, Oceanside, Long Beach, Rockville Centre, and Amityville
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one treatment
- Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of occupational treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent occupational dysfunction in patients.
- Custom Splint Fabrication for Patients
- Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
- Develop and guide plans of care which encourage compliance and produce the best results for your patients.
- Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Must be willing to treat all ages and have sensory integration experience.
- Occupational Therapist Program Graduate.
- NY Occupational Therapy License or eligible.
- Home health experience is preferred but not required - We will provide you with a mentor to help with documentation and compliance.
- Evaluates patient's need for occupational therapy and develops appropriate treatment plan.
- Provide appropriate care and treatment to patients based on physician care plan, agency policy and professional standards of care.
- Instructs family members, PTA's, Home Health Aides, and other caregivers in appropriate physical therapy techniques.
- Certifications Required: CPR/First Aid
Salary Description
$35-$45/hr
