As a Backend Software Engineer, you will own critical services and features, collaborating on solutions that handle millions of transactions seamlessly. We are looking for engineers who thrive in tackling complex systems, driving innovation, and delivering excellence in fast-paced environments.

Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $85 - $90 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain scalable and reliable microservices using Java, Kotlin, and Node.js.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex backend problems in cloud-based environments.
  • Optimize system performance to meet high availability and latency SLAs (99.999% uptime).
  • Design, build, and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless frontend-backend communication.
  • Work within CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth integration and deployment processes.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, libraries, and tools to enhance system functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues proactively, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain and update existing services for performance, reliability, and security.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies to ensure high code quality.
Experience Requirements:
  • Programming Expertise: 3+ years of experience in Java, Kotlin, and Node.js.
  • Microservices Architecture: Strong understanding and hands-on experience in distributed systems.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • API Development: Hands-on experience in building RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Version Control: Proficiency with Git and Git-based workflows.
  • Testing: Experience with testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai, or Jest.
  • CI/CD Knowledge: Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CircleCI.
  • Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure for cloud-based deployments.
  • Code Quality & Security: Ability to write efficient, maintainable, and secure backend code.
  • Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack.
  • Familiarity with message queues and event streaming platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar).
  • Experience with security scanning tools (e.g., Snyk) to ensure secure code practices.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or personal Kotlin repositories on GitHub.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments and using ticketing systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Background in DevOps practices and infrastructure management.
Education Requirements:
