GL Accountant

Our client, a well-established construction company in Clarksburg, MD, is seeking a dedicated General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team. • 3-4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and fixed assets.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business.
• Experience in construction, real estate, or waste management industries = a plus.
• Proficiency in Timberline/Sage CRE300 software = extra plus.
• Strong understanding of tax filings, including sales and property taxes.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow).
• Reconcile fixed asset accounts and maintain depreciation schedules.
• Ensure timely filing of tax obligations (sales, property, use taxes).
• Assist with month-end close processes and journal entries.
• Collaborate with external CPA firms for annual tax preparation.
• Support accounts payable/receivable functions.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
