Under minimal supervision performs advanced Neurodiagnostic procedures in the Neurodiagnostic labs, operating room, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and other specialized locations, monitors multi-modality studies intraoperatively, performs Long-Term Monitoring in Epilepsy with scalp and intracranial electrodes, performs standard EEG and Evoked Potential recordings in the Neurodiagnostic Labs and patient care areas. Weekend schedule rotation (with scheduled days off Mon-Friday). Rotates evening call.

Essential Functions

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
  • May perform Nerve Conduction Studies including Sensory and Motor conductions, F-Wave measurements, and H-Reflex studies. May assist physicians in the performance of EMG testing
  • Performs complex multi-modality Intraoperative Neuromonitoring studies including EEG, EMG, and all Evoked Potentials (SEP, BAER, VER) during neurosurgical, vascular, orthopedic, and otolaryngology surgeries.
  • Performs cortical stimulation/ functional mapping studies to determine sensor motor and language cortex.
  • Performs cranial nerve stimulation during neurosurgical and otolaryngology cases.
  • Performs EEG recordings during Amytal (WADA) testing. Performs Electrocorticography (ECOG) intraoperatively.
  • Performs Long Term Monitoring for Epilepsy (LTME) with scalp and intracranial (strip, grid, and depth) electrodes.
  • Performs Motor Evoked Potentials (MEP) during complex surgical procedures
  • Performs standard EEGs and all Evoked Potential modalities in the laboratory and patient care
  • Performs Tran cranial Doppler Studies (TCD) in the Neurodiagnostic Labs, at the patient bedside, in the operating room, and other specialized locations.
  • Programs and maintains computerized Event Detection recordings and computers in LTME for identification of suspected epileptic data.
Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education: Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation and/or equivalent formal training approved by the Medical Director

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience: Eighteen (18) months of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

License/Certification: Either Registration by the American Board of Registration of EEG and EP Technologist (ABRET) in:

-Electroencephalography (EEG), and/or

-Evoked Potentials (EP), and/or

-Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM), or

-Credential from Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technicians (BRPT) as Registered Polysomnographic Technicians (RPST).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of neuroanesthesia agents and their application to intra-operative monitoring
  • Skill: END pattern recognition to provide clinical descriptive information to epileptologist or surgeon
  • Skill: Good technical aptitude

Pay Range

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $135,283.20 to $153,420.80
