The Integrative Services Specialist provides experiential services including mindfulness, yoga, relaxation, meditation, body movement and/or massage, theatrical practices, and expression through music or writing to support the mission of Yellowbrick and healing the brain. He or she provides these services throughout the Yellowbrick model in group therapies including the Trauma Recovery Program, RAP and/or Soma-Self, individual sessions, and community-wide events. An additional foundation of the position involves facilitating the Self-Regulation Module, a three-session introduction to the skills and vocabulary of self-regulation shared across services at Yellowbrick, to incoming patients. The Integrative Services Specialist looks closely at the strengths and talents of individual patients to use their inclinations to their advantage for healing and realizing potential.

Responsibilities:

-Provide leadership for groups within Yellowbrick focused on Hatha Yoga, including Men’s and Women’s Group Yoga, Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation), and Gentle Yoga and Meditation. -Provide yoga services to individuals. Design yoga postures, breathing techniques, and mediations/visualizations tailored to an individual’s therapeutic needs. Create space for the individual to move at her/his own pace and learn techniques in depth that can be repeated independently. Goal to establish repeatable home practice. -Design and implement the Self-Regulation Module to incoming patients during their first weeks of treatment. Emotional self-regulation involves responding to the demands of the therapeutic process and the external world in a manner that is flexible to permit spontaneous reactions or the delay of spontaneous reactions in a personally and socially tolerable manner. Self-regulation requires monitoring, evaluating, and modifying emotional reactions and behavior, and is a task that requires practice and support. The Introduction to Self-Regulation Module is to be completed following admission to Yellowbrick as a means of establishing a self-regulation vocabulary, basic assessment of physical and mental capabilities for yoga and meditation, and foundation of self-regulation skills (present-moment awareness, relaxation, mindfulness, etc) to immediately employ as the therapeutic process begins. The module consists of three, one-hour sessions with the therapeutic yoga instructor for assessment, education, and practice. Exact application of skills depends on patient needs and could include physical yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation, or deep relaxation. -Lead groups in drama therapy techniques, including in the Trauma Recovery Program IOP, Rewards Alternative Pathways IOP and Soma-Self IOP, other Group Therapy formats and wherever else these techniques would be useful to bring forward emotions and move through a transformative experience. Plans with leadership and is on point for quarterly Community Day. Plans and is Master of Ceremonies for quarterly Talent Share. Lead improvisational theatre games to improve communication skills, uplift mood, and create connection amongst peers. -Lead self-regulation and self-integration groups. -Orchestrate expressive artistic activities outside of Minding the Brain and Specialty IOP programming hours to highlight the talents and interests of patients. These activities have included talent shows and play festivals. Participates in providing Saturday programming. -Participate in marketing and community education activities related to integrative services. -Exemplify the mission and the culture of Yellowbrick. -Conduct outcome evaluations in consultation with Director, Research and Training. -Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the Integrative Services Specialist position requires an MA, MFA, and/or training through a Yoga Alliance accredited training program with a minimum of 8 years experience. Licensed in State of Illinois in related professional field. Certificates and Licenses:
