The Utah Hockey Club is seeking to hire a full-time Physical Therapist to work with their American Hockey League Affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners. We are looking for young, energetic, growth-minded licensed physical therapists in the United States. Preferred candidates would be a recent or new graduate with dual certifications as either an Athletic trainer or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Day-to-day management of all physical therapy and rehabilitation-related issues at home for the Tucson Roadrunners
  • Attendance at all Tucson Roadrunners home practices and games, including weekends.
  • Provision of high-quality manual therapy
  • Provision of high-quality movement efficiency assessment and corrective exercise programs
  • Development and maintenance of evidence based, best-practice guidelines for the prevention and management of injuries at the club- including assistance with defining return to competition protocols
  • Ensuring appropriate recording of all medical and assessment data in a club wide accessible system
  • Data collection as required by the key leaders
  • Assist with strength and conditioning functions
  • Assist with acute care coverage of practices and games
  • Assist with acute injury management and concussion screenings
  • Assist with all physicals, pre-participation exams and exit interviews
  • Assist with inventory and facility management
  • This position will report directly to the Tucson Roadrunners' Head Athletic Trainer and General Manager.
  • Accept other duties, as assigned
COMPETENCIES:
  • Works cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives
  • Is effective in a variety of communication settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels.
  • Scans the environment for new technical skills, knowledge, or capabilities that can benefit business or personal performance
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Preference will be given to certified candidates in either Athletic Training or certified strength and conditioning specialist with focus on return to sport from injury
  • Capable of being licensed in Arizona
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Elite sports experience encouraged; Hockey experience highly encouraged
  • Highly passionate about manual therapy
  • Dry Needling and Blood Flow Restriction Qualification preferred
  • Experience with technologies including force plates, load monitoring or similar
  • This will primarily be a non-travel position, but occasional travel may be required. Have flexibility to travel when needed
  • Be able to provide a high quality, professional and thorough service across all aspects of your general responsibilities
  • Maintain yearly review of injury management and return to competition protocols with respect to the most recent evidence
  • Proficient in contribution to player monitoring, injury prevention, and recovery programs as requested
  • Capability of providing summaries of relevant information to the group on any conferences or courses attended
  • Maintain a record of Continuing Professional Development
  • Hold sufficient Professional Liability Insurance appropriate for working with elite hockey players
  • Candidates should be willing and able to relocate to the Tucson area within the next 2 months.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
