POSITION SUMMARY:

Seeking a Physical Therapy Practitioner to provide treatments to patients, evaluate function, and administer appropriate therapies to improve or restore function. This role also involves participating in interdisciplinary in servicing, community education, and clinical education of students.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited program of Physical Therapy, minimum of a B.S.
  • Must hold a current license in Physical Therapy.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Access to reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Evaluate patients based on departmental standards.

2. Modify evaluations based on patient's symptoms, level of activity, and medical status to establish individualized, measurable goals.

3. Administer appropriate therapeutic exercises and physical agents to relieve pain and attain goals.

4. Educate patients/families in home exercise programs and functional activities to maximize independent functionality.

5. Document in accordance with insurance guidelines and department policies.

6. Foster interdepartmental and physician communication regarding patient care.

7. Adhere to professional code of ethics and ensure proper body mechanics and safety.

8. Supervise affiliated students and participate in continuing education courses.
