CONTINGENT UPON AWARDING OF GOVERNMENT CONTRACT********

The Personnel Security Specialist III assists with the management and operations of the AOC Personnel Security Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The Personnel Security Specialist III performs security intake processing by receiving, reviewing, analyzing, and processing personnel security forms.
  • Monitors the AOC centralized portal system daily to track the status of applicant requests for congressional credentials, background investigations, and federal drug testing.
  • Schedules pre-employment drug tests.
  • The Personnel Security Specialist III performs data entry duties pertaining to the personnel security processes.
  • Performs administrative management functions for congressional credential management.
  • Processes requests for additional information on security packages and following up on correspondence received.
  • The Personnel Security Specialist III answers general security processing inquiries and forwards complex inquiries to the appropriate Personnel Security Specialist.
  • Provides technical assistance to applicants completing their congressional security forms.
  • Prepares memoranda, reports, and other reference documents.
  • Advises the Personnel Security Specialist when a candidate has failed to provide the requested information.
  • The Personnel Security Specialist III provides necessary research, information gathering, reviewing, analyzing, and compiling pertinent personnel security information into a case summary.
  • Properly safeguards sensitive information to include, but not limited to, Privacy Act Protected Information, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and Classified National Security Information.
  • Assists in any other personnel security duties, special projects, as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
Minimum/General Experience:
  • The Personnel Security Specialist III must have a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and the ability to maintain such clearance throughout the life of the contract.
  • Minimum of six (6), preferably eight (8), years of experience in Personnel Security.
Minimum Education:
  • High School Diploma
