Job Description:
The overall purpose of this position is to assist management in year-end activities. He or She is responsible for assisting in safeguarding the assets of the Institute through account analysis and regular monitoring of financial transactions. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the financial transactions recorded are recorded in NextGen Banking Central (NGBC) in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The position will process geo unit bank account template uploads, reconcile to the financial statements, and review compliance documents through the MGA Compliance Documents Portal. This role also works with other staff to assist in their understanding of accounting principles and assist in ad-hoc assignments.

This position typically reports to a Senior Manager of Business Finance Solutions.

The role typically functions as an individual contributor with no direct reports. This position must be able to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment and recommend process improvements to the Senior Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Reconcile transactions between Coupa (former system) and NextGen Banking Central-NGBC (new system).
2. Assist MGA BFS Financial Analyst with the review of all transactions tagged by Geo Unit Volunteers before processing them to the GL.
3. Keep track of year-end financial reporting through SmartSheet.
4. Reconcile transactions against bank statements before processing them to the GL.
5. Assist the MGA-BFS team with any MGA year-end-related activities and other ad-hoc requests.
6. Independently analyze the uploaded data and provide suggestions and solutions for variances or issues.
7. Review, reconcile, and process bank upload templates (CB and local bank accounts) for year-end consolidation.
8. Evaluate and analyze bank account balance reports and income statement activity in multiple currencies for potential non-compliance issues.
9. Remove inconsistencies or duplicate postings in NGBC before processing transactions to the GL.
10. Maintain all data up to date in any database or system used to track the financials of all Geo Units.
11. Track, consolidate, and audit financial data in NGBC and the general ledger to comply with the overall financial close and audit calendar.
12. Track, review, and approve compliance application documents through the MGA Compliance Platform at year-end.
13. Update authorized signers for both Concentration Banking (CB) and Local Bank Accounts in NGBC.
14. Maintain shared drives in an organized fashion.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field of interest

Work Experience
Experience: 2-4 years, Relevant business experience

Advanced portfolio-level awareness, understanding and support
Excellent organizational and analytical skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously
Attention to detail and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and many potential interruptions
Ability to identify steps necessary to resolve problems as well as the ability to execute changes
Must have a strong command of business English and be able to articulate program and transactional details with precision
Must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out new solutions to business challenges. Proficiency in computers & software, Excel, Word, Gmail, Databases, Oracle
Must have strong collaboration skills as this position requires frequent interaction with cross-functional, solution-oriented teams
Previous experience with process development, internal control evaluation, & process documentation is a plus
