Job Description We are looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to join the team at our laboratory in Valhalla, New York. Position Summary: The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for management of daily laboratory operations, environment, and work processes according to standard operating procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: Is accessible to testing personnel at all times testing is performed to provide on-site, telephone, or electronic support. Provides day-to day supervision of personnel performing high complexity testing. Must be on-site to provide direct supervision when high complexity testing is performed by certain individuals. Monitors test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performances are maintained. Resolving technical problems and ensuring remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory established performance specifications. Ensuring patient test results are not reported until corrective action has been taken and test system is functioning properly. Providing orientation and training to all testing personnel Annually evaluating and documenting the performance of all testing personnel (competency assessment) Minimum Qualifications BS in a life science and or Medical Technology Six (6) or more years of work experience in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Lab Technologist or Clinical Lab Scientist One (1) or more years of supervisory experience within a laboratory setting Experience with QC / QA / Regulatory requirements Experience working the bench in all areas of the core lab (Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, etc.) Able to perform CBC differentials Ability to use sound judgement when making decisions Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a reference laboratory highly desired ASCP certification is a plus Experience with Test Validation BioReference Laboratories is an Equal Opportunity Employer Compensation Range The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $125, 000.00/Yr. - USD $145, 000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
