MUST:
Experienced CT Scan Technologist
Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists
Experience performing CT examinations
Two years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist
Current CPR certification required
CT certification
Active DC License required

DUTIES:
Performs all CT examinations according to department procedure manual and established protocols.
Interviews patients (in/out) for history pertaining to CT exam. This history is to include unusual conditions or limitations and other pertinent information
Prepares and/or administers contrast media, oral and IV contrast
Monitors and observes any abnormal changes in patients color, respiration, heart rate and responsiveness
Responds appropriately to emergency situations, administers first aid/CPR as needed
Maintains emergency equipment in the room (to include O2, suction, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, Benadryl, Adrenalin, Epinephrine 1:1,000 and 1:10,000) to insure availability
Provides radiation protection to patient staff and self-according to prescribed radiation safety standards
Assists and/or moves patients independently to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and CT scan table (27" from floor)
Prepare patients for procedures according to established Radiology Department protocols
Handles multiple situations and the stress associated with frequent interruptions of the workflow
Assists radiologists in IR CT examinations including but not limited to biopsies
Uses hospital information system, via EPIC to access laboratory results for exam related information
