POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Housekeeper is responsible for the overall safety, cleanliness and maintenance of YMCA facilities. Assist members, guests, and staff in a friendly and professional manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for the direct cleaning of the YMCA, such as cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, locker rooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, trash removal, window cleaning, picking up trash/spills, etc., floor cleaning and maintenance, in all areas of the Y. Follows cleaning checklist for all areas of the building on a daily basis. Responsible for communicating and submitting to supervisor inventory and supplies needed to maintain the building. Organize, clean and maintain storage area for the cleaning supplies and equipment Maintain a clean and positive image along with YMCA attire/uniform. Maintain communication with all staff via in person and / or through work orders that are developed. Interact with staff and members in a positive manner and create a team atmosphere. Develop an understanding and commitment to the Annual Campaign. Other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS | ABUSE PREVENTION: Upholding the YMCA's commitment to the safety and well-being of youth in our programs is a core responsibility of all staff regardless of position. Attend required abuse risk management training. Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers. Adhere to procedures related to managing and supervising high-risk activities. Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations. Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance Customer-oriented and friendly Prioritization and time management skills Working quickly without compromising quality Knowledge of English language Communicate verbally to groups and individuals Can use a computer for email communications & work order tracking systems WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stand for long periods of time. Repeat the same movements. Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired. Be physically active for long periods without getting tired or out of breath.
