Job Details

New York licensed Pathology Assistant needed for day shifts in Glens Falls. 8hr days Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. 40hrs scheduled, 30 hour guaranteed. Candidates MUST be competent in performing FROZEN SECTIONS, GROSSING BIOPSIES AND LARGE COMPLEX SPECIMENS.

Required Qualifications

Previous Pathology Assistant experience current to 12 months - Required MUST be competent in performing FROZEN SECTIONS, GROSSING BIOPSIES AND LARGE COMPLEX SPECIMENS Bachelor Degree Required (Masters Preferred) NY PA License - Required PA)ASCP required. Equivalent certification not accepted Independent judgement and initiative required to schedule, organize, and plan work. Responsible for care and accuracy in collection and labeling specimens. Flexibility and adaptability in emergency situations including working additional hours or shifts. Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and alertly for extended periods of time, and under stress. Knowledge of HIS and LIS, assorted laboratory instrumentation appropriate to scope of position and dependent upon current technology.
