JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Pediatric ICU Unit

Shift timings: Night Shift 18:45 - 07:15 Hours

Roles & Responsibilities
  • 18 month Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience required Nurse
  • Patient Ratio by shift: 1:1,
  • 1:2 for ICU status, 1:3 for stepdown/non ICU
  • Minimum # Years in Specialty: 2 Certifications Required: BLS, PALS Certifications Preferred: ACLS
  • Congenital heart disease/defects, surgical CHD, heart failure, arrhythmias, transplant, VAD Age range: neonatal through young adult; occasional adult CHD patients
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
  • Minimum three years of Pediatric CVICU RN experience
  • Active unencumbered Texas RN state license
Requirements:
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
