External Description

Manages the movement of raw materials from the warehouse to the lines, and finished goods from the lines to shipping.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities
  • 1. Follows all standard safety procedures as outlined and stated in the Awair Policy and uses all approved safety devices and equipment at all times.
  • 2. Unloads receiving trucks and puts the materials away in the proper rows.
  • 3. Weighs and records by order number the materials used on the lines, and delivers the materials to the lines in a timely manner.
  • 4. Bands and takes back crates and pallets of finished goods to shipping.
  • 5. Maintains adequate levels of materials in the dryers.
  • 6. Willingly helps to cover for the Helper in cases of call ins. Willingly works as a Helper as needed.
  • 7. Willingly works in other departments as directed.
  • 8. Able to work in a team environment.
  • 9. Willingly takes direction from the Materials Supervisor and Shift Lead. Communicates well with Team Leads and Operators.
  • 10. Notifies Materials Supervisor of low levels of materials.
  • 11. Assists in inventory and cycle counts.
  • 12. Is able to change over and run the blender. Manages the regrind mixed inventory and mixes accordingly.
  • 13. Enters incoming receiving paperwork in the computer and distributes to the proper departments.
  • 14. Is capable of filling in as Materials Supervisor.
  • 15. Has a forklift license, and operates the forklift safely.
  • 16. Practices good housekeeping by sweeping the floor, taking scrap cardboard out, and general clean up.
  • 17. May be required to perform other duties as needed.
Requirements

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • 1. Standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and walking on concrete floor.
  • 2. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • 3. High school or equivalent degree.
  • 4. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others.
  • 5. Licensed to drive a forklift, and operate it safely.
  • 6. Ability to operate air and electric power tools safely.
