Surgical Technician Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and handling of instrumentation and surgical equipment and assisting the surgeon during the surgical procedure.
  • Administers care and use of equipment applications based on the age and needs of the patient population served.
  • Applying knowledge of specific procedures or specialties, effectively prioritize, and effectively plan and problem solve due to the changing nature of the work situation during surgical procedures.
  • Recognizing and supporting the need for immediate response during urgent or emergency situations.
  • Possessing basic knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system and aseptic technique, and apply this knowledge in all patient and family interactions.
Surgical Technician
  • Not certified? We have opportunities to work under the full scope of practice as a surgical technician in our five area hospitals.
  • Surgical Technician roles require one year surgical tech experience or completion of a surgical tech program or completion of a surgical tech apprentice program.
Certified Sr. Surgical Technician
  • Certified? We have opportunities to work under the full scope of practice as a surgical technician in our five area hospitals.
  • Senior Surgical Technician roles require three years as a Surgical Technician and certification as a Surgical Tech (CST).

This is a WOW (Work on Weekends) position. Schedules for WOW employees include working every Saturday & Sunday. Employees in designated WOW positions earn premium pay in addition to their competitive hourly rates and shift differential.

Qualifications

Required:
  • One year surgical tech experience or completion of a surgical tech program or completion of a surgical tech apprentice program
  • Diploma Or one year of surgical tech experience or successful completion of a Surgical Tech Apprentice Program
Desired:
  • One year surgical services
  • Certified Surgical Technologist
