Full time Occupational Therapist

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our school-based teams.

The appropriate candidate will work closely with special education staff to address the needs of students in PreK to middle school.

Responsibilities:

Provide instructional supports and strategies for special education students according to IDEA requirements.

Maintain AT resources, collaborate with teachers and other related service providers and school-based teams on student AT needs, work with students to integrate use of AT into the natural routines of the day.

Attend IEP meetings/staffing and other meetings as requested

Support teachers in developing and; implementing supports

Complete needed paperwork and job-related functions in a timely manner

Develop and maintain schedule including intervention and Team meetings

Gather, collate and/or classify data; generate reports and consider a wide variety of factors

Utilize a variety of job-related equipment and assistive technology

Routinely attended district and school-based meetings, training and professional development

Compliance with existing laws and professional ethics

Maintenance of appropriate continuing education credits, as well as state licensure

Other duties as requested by the Coordinator of Related Services, Pupil Personnel Director, or Building Principal

Travel to more than one work location in the course of the day may be required

Some lifting required up to 50 lbs.

Ability to physically assist students with physical and other disabilities

May be required to respond quickly to students, which may require running

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

2. Certification achieved by passing the national certification board examination.

3. Licensed or eligible for licensure by the State of Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professions

4. Two or more years of experience working in a public school setting is preferred.
