Position Summary & Key Areas of Ownership

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager will be deadline driven and detail orientated. Taking ownership and pride in all aspects of managing the Bakery on Main warehouse. Will manage and oversee the receiving, handling, storing, logistics, picking and packing activities within the warehouse. The managers role will also be to ensure that all quality standards are met in every aspect in accordance with Bakery on Main and any other applicable regulatory agencies.

Core Responsibilities
  • Supervise and train warehouse employees in all aspects of warehouse duties. Including but not limited to FIFO, Allergen Control, Receiving, Shipping, Picking, etc.
  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency with customer satisfaction and safety being the primary goals.
  • Oversee and manage logistics utilized to transport products to customers and internal facilities. Communicating effectively with carriers to ensure efficient, cost effective and reliable delivery of product.
  • Coordinate with procurement team to ensure inbound freight is received properly and that receiving dock schedule operates efficiently.
  • Coordinate cross training of employees from different warehouse departments to ensure coverage for vacations and other absences.
  • Regularly score card warehouse team members and conduct annual reviews.
  • Direct communication with customer service regarding order flow.
  • Continuous improvement on warehouse technology.
  • Ensure that all products, items, ingredients, and materials are received, sorted, labeled and stored in an orderly fashion according to company policies and standards.
  • Ensure daily Receiving and Shipping logs are properly completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize and build customer orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
  • Maintain FIFO system of inventory as required. Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas to keep the warehouse organized and cleaned.
  • Complete pallet layout forms print pallet tags and bill of ladings as needed.
  • Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
  • Assist with regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Manage daily activities of the warehouse including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping to ensure optimum flow and quality of work that maximizes efficiency and minimizes overtime.
  • Oversee and inspect PIT equipment, tools, and machinery regularly to ensure it is in proper safe working condition. Ensuring all equipment is being operated in a safety-first manner.
  • Determine and track appropriate warehouse KPI's.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory locator system.
  • Manage Bakery on Main Chep Pallet Program.
  • Assisting warehouse staff with daily tasks as needed.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Requirements
  • High School Diploma, three years, or more related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Reports to Director of Supply Chain and Logistics
  • ERP and Warehouse Management System Experience required
  • Forklift and Pallet Jack experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
