Counselor - Outpatient

  • Provides individual counseling and treatment/recovery plan preperation, monitoring, and review
  • Provide theapeuric interactions to foster patient's social, cognitive, and behavioral skill development
  • Provide psychosocial interventions to teach skills for coping with urges, craving, impulsive behavior and cognitive distortions in thinking, motivational interviewing techniques
  • Provide individual, group and family counseling, where appropriate
  • Plan and facilitate interactions with patients within the program to build social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and thorough case records
  • Maintain relationships with patient referral agencies
  • Complete utilization reviews in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care
Candidate Profile:
  • Education - Master's Degree in Social work, mental health (MSW, MHC)
  • LMSW or LMHC or Limited permit
  • Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
  • Minimum 2 years in Behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment program
