
Automation DevOps Engineer

Summary:
The Automation Architect/Engineer position is responsible for designing and implementing automated solutions for a critical platform in the storage team. The platform, based on Cassandra, serves online and mobile traffic, including both real customers and US Bank customers. The candidate will be involved in migrating the platform to the cloud (preferably Azure) and enabling automation using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and workflow automation tools like Airflow. The role requires a strategic and systematic approach to define the architecture, deploy automation solutions for both on-premises and cloud environments, and collaborate with team members of varying skill levels. Experience with CI/CD enablement using Jenkins and managing Jenkins pipelines is also essential. The candidate should have a solid understanding of database systems, preferably with experience in cloud migration and NoSQL/unstructured databases. This person does NOT need a DBA background however. Strong automation skills, architecture design expertise, and proficiency in Python or Java are necessary for success in this role.
